What do we aim to achieve with this project?
Waves of Learning II – New Horizons (2026-1-HR01-KA122-VET-000443387) is an Erasmus+ short-term mobility project for VET learners and staff (KA122-VET) implemented by Pomorska škola Zadar (Maritime School Zadar) from 1 September 2026 to 30 September 2027. The project was approved by the Croatian National Agency (AMPEU) with a total grant of EUR 44,739.00.
The project builds on the school's previous Erasmus+ experience and addresses the gap between theoretical knowledge and the real demands of the modern maritime industry. It comprises three activities:
- a two-week work placement for 12 students of the Nautical Officer and Marine Engineering programmes in maritime companies in Limassol, Cyprus, focusing on shore-based maritime operations, ship–shore communication, voyage coordination and technical support to vessels
- job shadowing for two vocational teachers at Lycée Maritime du Guilvinec, a maritime secondary school in France
- a structured training course on intercultural learning in Portugal for three members of staff.

What do we expect from this project?
- To enhance the professional competences of maritime students through experiential learning in shore-based maritime operations and to increase their employability.
- To strengthen teachers' pedagogical and professional competences through analytically focused job shadowing at a partner school and a training course on intercultural learning.
- To ensure lasting improvement of teaching and of the school's institutional capacity by systematically integrating mobility results into regular teaching: developing teaching materials, practical tasks and case studies based on real professional situations.
